House Quirks and Perks

 For legal and safety reasons, no one is permitted on the property before receiving confirmation that the house is ready for check-in. This includes entering the yard, driveway, or any outdoor areas.

If you’d like to drop off luggage early, we’re happy to arrange that ahead of time—just send us a message to coordinate. Thanks for your understanding and helping us maintain a safe and smooth experience for everyone!

 Just a heads up—our home does not have air conditioning, as noted on our Airbnb listing. That said, the coastal breeze usually keeps things comfortable but there is the occasional heat wave. We’ve added ceiling fans in every room plus box fans  in the bonus room to circulate air. Feel free to open windows to let the ocean air in. The evenings are usually cool and comfortable no matter how warm it is during the day.

We recently replaced our fridge with a model that doesn’t have a water or ice dispenser, since the kitchen doesn’t have a waterline and we found guests were often confused. Instead, we provide a Brita pitcher with a fresh filter and ice trays in the freezer. Some guests also choose to bring bottled water or bags of ice for convenience.

Our previous fridge still works, so it's currently located outside near the grill while we decide if it's helpful or just an eyesore. We’d love your feedback—let us know if you find it useful!

We’ve got you covered whether you’re team drip or team pod! The kitchen is stocked with a  classic drip coffee maker and a Keurig machine for single-serve convenience. We also try to keep a starter supply of filters and a couple of K-Cups on hand, but feel free to bring your favorite brew. There is also a delicious coffee shop (Succulent Coffee Roasters) just a 5 min walk away.

  Our home was built in the 1920s, and while we’ve added plenty of modern upgrades—including a brand new tankless water heater (installed June 2025!)—it’s still a historical home at heart. If you're traveling with a larger group, we recommend spacing out showers and avoiding simultaneous use of the dishwasher or laundry to ensure everyone has plenty of hot water. 

We almost named the house Sandy Toes—because no matter how hard we try, sand finds its way in! Being just steps from the beach means floors can get sandy and the hot tub might collect a little grit too. Even after cleaning, the ocean breeze brings in some dust when the windows are open. If you like going barefoot (we do too!), we recommend a quick sweep or vacuum each day to keep things comfy.
