If you are traveling North toward Sunset Beach its recommended you travel via N. Pacific Ave (the green belt) to avoid having to turn left onto PCH. Stoplights are at Broadway, 19th, and Anderson to safely turn left onto PCH.

If you are traveling South toward Huntington Beach its recommended you travel via S. Pacific Ave (the green belt) and 2nd street/ N Pacific Avenue to avoid having to turn directly onto PCH . A Stoplight is at PCH and 5th street as well as PCH and Warner Ave.
 

Check in instructions are sent to you the day of check in at 4 pm unless we can accommodate early check in. Please fill out your arrival form to receive the lockbox code.

The house is stocked with all major appliances including a washer and dryer. Our refrigerator does not have the water line connected to it so you may want to bring filtered water but we do have a Brita pitcher and an ice bin. Each guest receives the following toiletries: trial size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, and facial bar. Each bathroom has liquid hand soap and 3 rolls of toilet paper. In the kitchen a trial size liquid dish soap is provided as well at least 10 detergent pods, 8 kitchen trash bags, 4 heavy duty trash bags, and 3 rolls of paper towels. Laundry detergent is also provided.

If a guests leaves a food or drink item that is unopened and not expired we will leave it for the next guests. 

Parking is available in the driveway, in front of the driveway on the street (the no parking signs are ours so you can park in front of them), on PCH on the side of the house, or in any of the spots off Pacific Ave. Sunset Beach also has free parking in any of the spots along the green belt! Do not park in front of the white garages, that is another property. 

Sunset it a fairly safe town but It is recommended that you keep the gates closed in the evening or if you are sleeping with the windows open. Having the gates closed also helps with dirt and debris blowing into the carport area and getting in the house. As the sign says, please keep the gate that accesses the yard from the carport shut if the driveway gates are open. 

If you decide to keep the driveway gates closed you can unlock the front gate to walk back and forth without having to open and close them.

If the WIFI needs to be reset, the main router and modem are located in the living room on top of end table

There is a biweekly hot tub cleaning on Mondays and Fridays usually between 2pm and 3pm. The grass is cut every Friday in spring/summer between 3 and 3:30pm.  If these services overlap with your stay you will receive a reminder via the messaging system. Towels for the hot tub are in the bin next to it.
 

The kitchen has a built in trash can/ recycle bin that is labeled. The outdoor trashcans are located in the alley behind the house (toward 6th street). If you are facing the front of the house from the driveway you can get to the back of the house to the right by going out the alley door. Trash pickup is twice per week on Monday and Friday mornings.

Do not attempt to open the gate next to the hot tub it is locked with a different key. 

If you are interested in renting bikes Beach Side E Bikes offers rentals and will deliver them to the house. We have camping chairs, boogie boards, a cooler, and sand toys in the gated area at the end of the driveway. There are two shops within walking distance (more information) that offer kayak, surfboards, paddleboards, and some boogie boards. We have two beach umbrellas. We try to check to make sure everything is in working condition prior to each reservation but there is a lot of wear and tear with daily use so it is recommended that if you can, you bring your own beach equipment. You can rent other equipment near the Huntington Beach pier. 

We do not have cable but the Samsung smart TVs do have limited preloaded channels called Samsung TV Plus.  View the channels here.  Please remember to sign out of all your streaming services when you leave.

For outdoors we have cornhole and badminton. For indoors we have Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Uno,  and playing cards. Games are located inside the ottoman coffee table in the living room.

Extras are  in the bonus room including sheets for the trundle, pull out bed, and pack n play. We do not make the floor mattress due to dust that accumulates if it's not used. There is a mattress cover on it and a full set of sheets in the grey bags at the bottom of the luggage rack in the bonus room. If you use any of the bedding please leave it on the beds so the cleaners know it needs to be washed. The Ottoman should have blankets for the couch. 

We should have named our home sandy toes because your feet will get sandy and sand will end up in the hot tub. Even after cleaning, some dust still gets on the floors due to the windows being open and the house being so close to the beach. If you like to be barefoot like us we recommend sweeping or vacuuming the floors daily.

If you are interested in a professional cleaning for the entire house with linen/ towel change and toiletries replaced it can be scheduled with our house cleaner for $200. 

The bonus room closet contains a broom, mop, vacuum, high chair, Pack n' Play, and a Pack n' Play mattress.  Use all baby items at your own risk and make sure children are supervised. 

Pet bowls are underneath the kitchen sink as well as stain & odor remover. Please clean up after your pet(s) inside and outside. If you have pet(s) make sure you have paid the pet fee or your reservation may be cancelled.

What our pet fee covers: When a pet is present our cleaner does a sweep, double vacuum, and all of the furniture and bedding is lint rolled by hand. 

There is a fire extinguisher and first aid kit under the kitchen sink and in the bonus room closet with the cleaning supplies.

To date we have only had one guest mention that the street noise was too loud for her but for any light sleepers we have a "Sleep Well" kit in each room that includes a white noise machine, earplugs, and sleep eye mask. 

Instructions will be sent to you the evening before your checkout date. You do not need to strip beds or do any other cleaning activities but we do appreciate loading and starting the dishwasher and putting all used towels in a single pile. If you have the time putting the towels (excluding the makeup towels) in the washer on the "towel" setting is also helpful but not at all required.
